THEY say good things come in small packages and sexy actress Sharon Small is the living proof of that. The Scots beauty is tipped to become one of TV's top stars with her role in a major new BBC drama, Glasgow Kiss. Sharon, who played a holiday rep in Sunburn with ex-EastEnder Michelle Collins, will impress few female fans. They'll be green with envy at her screen clinch with Scot Iain Glen, whose naked scene opposite Nicole Kidman in The Blue Room set pulses racing. In the six-part love story, Sharon plays Cara Rossi, a hard-nosed executive sent to revamp an ailing Glasgow paper. She ends up in the sack with star sports writer Stuart Morrison, played by Glen. The not so young, free and single role struck a chord with Sharon, who recently split from long-term partner Ian Jessop.

"It's typical of our generation," she said, "thirtysomethings who've had relationships and are now single."

In Glasgow Kiss, Rossi is having an affair with her married boss, who has sent her to Glasgow to get her out the way. But she doesn't bargain for Morrison. At the start of their affair, she asks: "Do I look happy?"

For Sharon, all women should ask themselves that.

She said: "We have built happiness up so much that it is a very difficult thing to achieve. I've had a slow build in my career. Luckily, there is a kind of wave coming through for the thirtysomethings and maybe I'll ride that."

Sharon looks certain to continue her career as she matures.

She said: "People look at older women and say, 'She was really attractive when she was younger. With men, they say, 'Oh, he is looking really good for his age'.

"Then there's Helen Mirren. She's attractive and a great actress. As you get older, there is so much more to give."

On whether she is maturing and wanting a family, she said: "I am getting to that stage where I think I will just play it day by day. I want a family down the line, but I have to find a daddy first!"
